In my endeavour to regenerate straw handicraft, I has experimented with diffrent methods of weaving to arrive at one that allows the straw to glow with a slightly metallic lustre, taking the humble straw strand to new heights of design. I started my career by creating a science fiction cartoon for adults. After that mainly oilpainting. I have regularly showed my works at galleries and art fairs in Stockholm and other places in Sweden, during the nineties also in Berlin, Germany. Critics write of my "mixture of refinement and vulgarity». My preference of bad weather motives with disappearing daylight and neon lights has been noted, so the sensuality of my nudes and the stunning effect of my portraits of super stars such as John Lennon, Marilyn Monroe and Jimi Hendrix. |  |

replica of technologies developed by the Industrial Revolution. Why
Industrial revolution? Because the new shapes and surfaces, that came out
of the Industrial Revolution, have composed the cultural landscape of the
10th century. Than, that whole cultural landscape of the 10th century, can
leave its fingerprints through this painting process. Hratch

Boro Ivetic was born 1946. in Sarajevo. Graduated on Arts Academy, paint section in Sarajevo 1991. in a class of professor Ratko Lalic ( 1st and 2nd year) and Lj. Percinlica ( 3rd and 4th year). His work matures in painting style which was created by his professors and already affirmated artists (Berber, Zec, Mujezinovic...). Art of Boro Ivetic with elements of old cultures (still nature) put in modern ambient, affirmate beauty of colors and values of painting profession. Paintings tell us that act of painting is superior area for establishment of mental, spiritual and sensible contents and not just simple decoration on walls. In the time of postmodern, when all painting styles exist, art movements, comprehensions, Boro Ivetic with his paintings proves good choice of his artistic path. Acknowledgment of this statement are also numerous owners of his paintings in USA, Switzerland, Austria, Belgia and countries from former Yugoslavia (SFRJ). |  |
